I help organisations, companies, research teams and researchers to develop a coherent and long-term R&D strategy. This includes turning their ideas into successful grant applications. I help the researchers to define, design and write the grant. I support teams with the project initiation and management of new or existing research projects.
R&D funding
I help teams to turn their ideas into successful grant applications. We can start from a basic idea or an existing draft.
For full proposal development from scratch, I follow a 4-stage process. For each stage, I have a structured approach. This results in an efficient and less distracting and time-consuming process.
Stage 1 Screening: includes screening and understanding the research and ideas. I will produce a small project brief, timing overview and some preliminary writing.
Stage 2 Bronze Stage: includes defining, finding, contacting and involving the right partners and science collaborators for your project.
Stage 3 Silver stage: is writing a first full version of the grant. I carefully read and summarized all essential funding documents. This will guide us through the process.
Stage 4 Gold Stage:I will help to coordinate and collate internal reviews and improve the grant to its final version.

I help organisations, companies, research teams and researchers to renew or create a coherent R&D strategy. I help to develop a vision and a concrete and actionable plan. We start with a stock take of current activities, strengths, customers and goals. Then we explore and determine potential areas of growth and change. This translates into an overall vision in three areas: context, people and content. Next, we develop a suitable metric to guide our efforts. Then we need to test our hypotheses with the market by talking to existing, potential new customers and stakeholders. After an iterative loop, we adapt our ideas to a sound evidence-based science strategy. From this we define and derive concrete projects. Then we can translate these into a concrete plan, actions, and next steps.
R&D Project Management
My services involve setting up the project, ongoing support, or just a re-alignment of existing processes using proven project management tools. My services also include an analysis of which project management style and which tools will help the team perform the best. I am very happy and comfortable to help with engagement and management on all levels: technical teams, end users, government departments, stake holders etc.
